Workshop ‘Expressive therapies and quality of life: storytelling and its forms’, 2nd edition

The University of Genoa organises the second edition of the workshop ‘Expressive therapies and quality of life: storytelling and its forms’. The event will promote knowledge of expressive therapies from a popular and experiential perspective, through workshops on music therapy, art therapy, social theatre, DanceAbility, DanceMovementTherapy, speech and writing.

The theoretical and practical workshop will begin with the opening day scheduled for Friday 4 October 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at the Aula San Salvatore in Piazza Sarzano 8, Genoa. During the opening day, the theme of narration through self-telling will be explored: telling one’s own story through various forms of expression, and in particular through writing, allows one to focus on certain aspects of one’s personal sphere and helps to bring out important relationships with others. This will be followed by the presentation of the experiential workshops to be held at various venues between Friday 4 October and Thursday 24 October. Finally, during the final day of the workshop, scheduled for Friday 25 October 2024 at 9.00 a.m. at the Aula San Salvatore in Piazza Sarzano 8 in Genoa, there will be a theoretical session dedicated to scientific evidences on expressive therapies. There will be simultaneos translation in English for this panel .
The workshop is addressed to all university students of the University of Genoa, in particular to those of the degree courses in medicine, psychology, literature, to the entire academic community, to the students of the Accademia Ligustica di Belle Arti and to the public interested in learning more about the proposed topics.
